We (BD INTERIOR) recently wrapped up a pretty exciting home interior project in Bashundhara K Block, Dhaka — and honestly, it turned out way better than expected. The place had potential, but the transformation? Next level. You walk in now, and there’s this calming vibe, like everything just works together — soft colors, comfy textures, and lighting that doesn’t try too hard but still sets the mood.
When we first walked into this place in Bashundhara, it felt… fine. Not bad, just kind of plain. You know the spaces: the ones with lots of potential but that need some love. Yeah, it was one of those. But the client knew what she wanted — modern, comfortable and not too flashy — and we were in for it.
We began with a calming, neutral scheme, setting the mood. Whites, beiges, a little grey here and there. Not loud, just quiet and clean. (To be honest, you can’t go far wrong with soft colors — they just harmonize.) Then came the layout. The client hates clutter, and let’s face it: Who doesn’t? So we were just open and flowing. Shifted a few things around, opened up the common spaces and ensured the light could flood in.
One thing we adore personally (and perhaps this is just us) is the floaty custom cabinetry in the living area. It wasn’t overdesigned — just clean and functional. The type of storage that contains the unsightly without screaming, you’d be amazed how few people get that balance.
The kitchen was a blast to tackle. Small footprint, but we pack in a lot. Sleek lines, matte finishes, soft-close drawers and more. Oh, and we installed under-cabinet lighting — simple upgrade, major impact.
Bedrooms? Total mood shift. We went even more muted — warm wood tones, natural linens and layers of lighting that allow you to shift from “Netflix mode” to “I need to read something serious” mode without batting an eye. They even gave one of the walls a textured finish that, when the light hits it just so, kind of looks like it’s glowing. I’m not suggesting that this project will be everyone’s cup of tea. Some people want glam, others want minimal, and that’s OK. But do you like that clean but cozy type of style? This could be right up your street.
Anyway, have a look at the pictures. They say it better than I ever could in some written words. And hey — if you’re planning a similar one, drop us a line. We could very well make your Pinterest board come to life.
